Mariano Vergara-Hegi is a highly accomplished PR & IR expert with over 25 years of international experience, specializing in assisting both private and public sector companies. He played a pivotal role in some of the largest international NYSE and Nasdaq IPOs from Latin America, and successfully established corporate communications operations from scratch for leading international firms across the region, cultivating an extensive network of contacts. Prior to joining EdgarAgents, Mariano was in charge of Business Development Partnerships and Alliances at eMerge Americas, a global B2B technology conference focused on connecting innovators, investors, and thought leaders. His extensive career also includes serving as Director for South America with Latin Trade, where he provided information services and covered vital business development trends in Latin America, representing LT at significant global events like the World Economic Forum (Latin America) and the IDB Annual Meeting. Mariano’s leadership experience further includes his tenure as President, South America at PR Newswire (2000-2010), where he held broad responsibility for sales, marketing, business development, legal, and HR, and significantly expanded the client base throughout South America. Earlier, he was a partner at Aja Espil & Asoc., the Hill & Knowlton affiliate in Argentina, and served as Press & Communications Director for the Argentine National Ministry of Justice in the early 90s. He began his career as a journalist at “Noticias Argentinas,” Argentina’s first private news agency.
Mariano holds a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and a graduate degree in International Relations from FLACSO (Facultad Latinoamerican de Ciencias Sociales), an affiliate of UNESCO.
